Something about me people might not know
I can make homemade pasta from scratch in under 15 minutes – it’s worth the extra effort!
A life change that seemed risky at the time, but turned out positive
On a whim, I decided to backpack around Europe solo for 3 months when I was 19. I saw beautiful places, met wonderful people, and left with a newfound confidence. It was a deeply empowering experience.
My most significant role model
It’s a tie between my parents. My dad left the family farm at 18 with just two suitcases and ended up creating a thriving career and a wonderful life for himself. He is my example for perseverance, kindness, and hard work. My mom has advocated for others her entire life both professionally and personally. She is incredibly civically engaged and instilled in me a passion for justice and advocacy. She is my example for standing up for others and giving back.
My favorite motto
“Go after a life of love as if your life depended on it – because it does.”
1 Corinthians 14:1
The qualities that make me an “unconventional” consultant
Keeping the mission front-of-mind, always. I need to fully understand how my work will impact my client’s mission-critical activities. Even if a project seems specific to an administrative component of an organization, I’ve found important insights by learning the ins-and-outs of its field operations. Designing solutions with the mission front-of-mind will always drive maximum impact- and that’s what my clients need.
Where I find inspiration in day-to-day life
Watching people interact with each other reminds me that there is no shortage of goodness in the world. Seeing people help each other, support each other, and celebrate with each other gives me joy every day. That and cute dogs on Instagram.
