Eagle Hill Consulting participates in and sponsors the 2009 Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Walk to Cure Diabetes

McLean, Virginia - May 31, 2009

Eagle Hill Consulting was part of a select group of Elite sponsors for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) 2009 Walk to Cure Diabetes in Washington, DC. With more than 4,500 DC-area participants, the walk raised a powerful $1.6 million to support research to find a cure for Juvenile (type 1) Diabetes.

This is Eagle Hill’s second year sponsoring the JDRF Walk. This year, the Eagle Hill team joined 400 other corporate walk teams at the Nationals stadium to traverse the three mile route in perfect weather. “I was pleased to be part of Eagle Hill’s sponsorship and team this year,” said, Sandy Gentles, a management consultant with Eagle Hill and 30-year diabetic. ”I know firsthand what an impact this walk can have. Diabetes is a deadly disease with no cure and I am looking forward to seeing what the research companies can bring about with support from companies like Eagle Hill,” concluded Mr. Gentles.

About the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation was founded in 1970 by parents of children with diabetes who were convinced that through research, diabetes could be cured. Today approximately 16 million Americans have diabetes. Because insulin is not a cure, research is our only hope. Every year 650,000 people suffer from the complications of this disease including blindness, kidney disease, and amputation. This year, JDRF will award almost $100 million to diabetes research, bringing its cumulative dollar commitment to more than $600 million since it was formed. JDRF gives more money directly to diabetes research than any other private health agency in the world, in fact more than 98 cents of every dollar contributed goes directly to research.
